Baby Monitors ยท Guide

Baby monitor safety and cord placement

A monitor is a helpful set of extra eyes and ears โ€” but its cord is a real strangulation hazard if it's within a child's reach. Placement is everything.

Keep cords far from the crib

Mount the camera and route its cord well out of reach โ€” at least three feet from the crib is a common recommendation. Cords are a strangulation hazard.

Choose privacy-conscious options

Non-WiFi monitors keep the feed off the internet. If you use a WiFi model, use a strong password and keep firmware updated.

It aids, not replaces, supervision

A monitor helps you check in, but it isn't a substitute for being present and attentive.
