Furniture Anchors · Guide
How to prevent furniture tip-over
Furniture and TV tip-overs are a serious, well-documented hazard for young children — and highly preventable with proper anchoring.
Anchor into studs
Secure dressers, bookcases, and shelving to wall studs with anti-tip straps. Drywall alone can pull out under a climbing child.
Secure the TV
Anchor the TV and its stand. Flat-screens tip easily when pushed or pulled.
Remove the temptation
Keep toys, remotes, and treats off high surfaces so children aren't tempted to climb.
Frequently asked questions
- Is anchoring into drywall enough?
- No. Anchor into a wall stud whenever possible. Drywall anchors alone can fail under the force of a child climbing or pulling on furniture.
