When to start babyproofing
The best time to babyproof is before your baby is mobile. Babies reach milestones at their own pace, so get ahead of each stage rather than reacting to it.
Before crawling
Anchor furniture and TVs, and plan your gates. It's easier to do this before you're chasing a mover.
Crawling and pulling up
Gate stairs, lock low cabinets, cover outlets, and cushion sharp edges at standing-bump height.
Cruising and climbing
Re-check anchors, add door knob covers for off-limits rooms, and remove climbing lures.
